Variant spellings (and some apparent typographical errors) have generally been retained, especially in quoted documents. Where changes to the text have been made these are listed at the end of the book. See also the Addenda et Corrigenda. Minor punctuation and format changes have been made without special comment. Uncommon characters are listed below. If these do not appear here, you may need to adjust your browser settings. The following are used in Old English text: - Ā, ē, m̄, r̅s, ū (macron over A, e, m, rs and u)
- ƀ, b̶b, Þ̵ (bar through the upright of b, bb and "thorn")
- Tironian ampersand is represented with "[&]"
- Old English r symbol is represented with {r}
Additional symbols and diacritics in the text are rendered as follows: - ā, c̄, ē, m̄, ō (macron over a, c, e, m and o)
- Ɔ (used for apostrophic C used in in Roman dates)
- ḿ (acute accent over m)
- ũ (tilde over u)
- ŭ (breve over u)
For Greek (ζωοφυτον) and Hebrew (ספר תגן), a transliteration is available by hovering the cursor over the text, as indicated by the thin red underline.
