- The writer has been unable to learn sufficient of General Sprague's services, after leaving the Seventh, to enable him to write an extended sketch, which he very much regrets, for his gallant services entitle him to a more lengthy notice.

- The writer would be glad to give an extended account of the gallant services of Colonel Shurtliff in the bloody battles before Richmond and Petersburg, but has not received the necessary facts.
