Landscape Terrace, Cork, Dec. 29. 1851. Dear Sir,—For the information of your two correspondents, "A Subscriber," and "R. O. W." ("Current Notes" for December, p. 95), I beg to repeat my assertion that there was an edition of "The Holy Court," by N. Caussin, published in Corke. In fact, (if I mistake not), there were two editions, one in 1765, without plates; and one in 1767, with very excellent plates. I can procure an imperfect copy of the former for either of your correspondents for one shilling; and a fine copy of the latter for thirty to thirty-five shillings, full calf, with plates. The work was printed in Broad-lane—(perhaps so called quasi "lucus a non lucendo," as the lane is certainly rather narrow)—and was very well got up. The date and place of printing are thus given in the first edition: Corke: "Printed anno Domini 1765." I am, Sir, yours very truly, Wm. C. Neligan. Mr. Willis. |
