New Pattern for Lace Edging.

Linen thread No. 6. Pins No. 18. Cast on 12 stitches.

First row:—Slip 1, knit 1, pass the cotton twice round the pin, knit 2 together, pass the cotton twice round the pin, knit 2 together, pass the cotton twice round the pin, knit 2 together, pass the cotton twice round the pin, knit 2 together, pass the cotton twice round the pin, knit 2 together.

Second row:—Knit 2, seam 1, knit 2, seam 1, knit 2, seam 1, knit 2, seam 1, knit 2, seam 1, knit 2.

Third row:—Slip 1, knit 16.

Fourth row:—Cast off 5, knit 11. You will now have 12 stitches on the needle.

Fifth row:—Slip 1, knit 2, pass the cotton twice round the needle, knit 2 together, knit 1, pass the cotton 4 times round the pin, knit 2 together, knit 1, pass the cotton twice round the pin, knit 2 together, knit 1.

Sixth row:—Knit 3, seam 1, knit 3, seam 1, knit 1, seam 1, knit 3, seam 1, knit 3.

Seventh row:—Slip 1, knit 16.

Eighth row:—Cast off 5, knit 11.
