A Premium of Ten Guineas will be awarded in 1840 for the best plan and description of London under the dominion of the Romans.

A Premium of Ten Guineas will be awarded in November, 1840, for the best Historical Memoir of Mary Sydney, Countess of Pembroke; and in November, 1841, for the best account of the Life and Benefactions of Sir Bartholomew Reed, Founder of the Free Grammar School at Cromer.

All the Works sent in for competition, whether successful or not, will remain the property of the contributors; but the umpires reserve to themselves the option of depositing in the British Museum, or other Public Library, such Manuscripts as are not intended by the authors for immediate publication.
