Reflection 1.—The beneficent influence of the Press is most talked about by the Press. Reflection 2.—If the Press were less evenly divided upon all social, political, and moral questions the influence of its beneficence would be greater than it is. Reflection 3.—The beneficence of its influence would be more marked. Reflection 4.—If the Press were more wise and righteous than it is, it might escape the reproach of being more foolish and wicked than it should be. Reflection 5.—The foregoing Reflection is not an identical proposition. Reflection 6.—(a) The beneficent influence of the Press cannot be purchased for money. (b) It can if you have enough money. |
