PATENT
Self-protecting Watch Pendant
BY
GEORGE SNOWBALL,
18, SPRING STREET, PADDINGTON. W.
The intention of the Inventor is to give to the owners of valuable watches the security and confidence hitherto not enjoyed; as it is unhappily too well-known that the wearer of so useful an article as a watch is always in danger of having it wrenched from him. In many instances, gentlemen have discontinued to display their watch guards for fear of losing the watch attached to it, therefore being under the necessity of putting away a useful and elegant part of dress.
Watches, made with the above improvement are keyless; the Watch being wound and the hands set to the time, and the watch itself protected by this novel invention. The pendant being a universal joint, cannot be wrenched off.
The Self-protecting Pendant can be fixed to any Watch for a small cost.
The invention has been highly approved of by a number of scientific gentlemen.

UNITED FOREIGN WINE GROWERS’ COMPY.
In again presenting our Price List to the Public, we beg to thank those patrons for the kind support they have hitherto bestowed upon us.
We are glad to be able to state that our expectations at the formation of the Company, have been fully realized. The increasing demand for pure and wholesome Wines at reasonable prices, has induced us to make considerable alterations in our premises; our cellar accommodation now extending under the adjoining houses will enable us to meet any demand that may be made upon us, and we trust by continuing the practice of buying direct from the Growers and paying Cash, to be in a position to save the consumer at least 25 per cent. of the cost. We keep a large stock of Draught and Bottled Wines here, as also at our Stores, 6 & 7, Cooper’s Row, Crutched Friars, where we have upwards of 2,000 dozen of Bottled Wines, of which we solicit an inspection; we also keep a large stock of Cask and Cased Wines in the London and St Katherine’s Docks, ready for Shipment for Exportation.
We have declined appointing Agents, as we should be obliged to allow 10 or 15 per cent. Commission, which would necessitate altering our quotations. Quality when once appreciated, recommends itself, and we rely upon our Wines to do for us what many of our contemporaries fly to, by daily advertising.
Soliciting a perusal of our prices, and a trial order, fearlessly challenging comparison with the Wines of any other house,—We are, Sir, your obedient Servants,
“THE UNITED FOREIGN WINE GROWERS’ COMPANY.”
William Pound, Manager.
